Programs for Postdocs
Postdocs at the Hausdorff School for Mathematics are given diverse opportunities to enhance their research and their academic and personal development. We support them to present their work at conferences, to teach under the guidance of experienced mentors, to organize their own events and form their own networks, as well as to gain a multitude of competences that will help them on their professional career paths.
Teaching Mentoring Program
This program is designed to help young researchers to develop solid teaching skills with the support of an experienced professor. Within this program a postdoc and a professor plan a lecture or class together. Postdocs give at least half of the sessions each term and the professor provides them systematically with feedback and advice on their performance
Young Researcher Networking
Organizing one's own academic events and forming one's own collaboration networks is an important part of becoming an active part of a research community. YRN supports research workshops and other networking events organized by junior researchers for junior researchers from Bonn and other institutions.
Conference Travel
Postdocs can apply for funding to travel to conferences and workshops.
Professionalization Workshops
Being a succesful researcher in math requires acquiring a variety of professional skills and competences that are the focus of these offerings directed at PhD students and Postdocs.
Post-Doctorate Plus
Postdocs at the University of Bonn can profit from the wide range of training provided within the scope of the Postdoc plus program. The courses help develop and tailor one's professional profile to the needs of employers in both a university and non-university context
