Mathematical salon

The Hausdorff Research Institute for Mathematics (HIM) and the Deutsche Telekom Stiftung invite you to the "Mathematischer Salon".

An evening at HIM

Math. SalonThe Mathematical Salon is an evening event in the beautiful rooms of the HIM building that embraces the salon tradition of the 18th and 19th centuries. At that time especially, society women hosted invited writers, musicians, and sometimes scientists at private circles in their most sumptuous drawing-rooms.

The HIM program consists of a brief spoken essay connected broadly in some sense to mathematics and framed by two short musical performances. Afterwards, there is ample opportunity to interact with mathematicians while enjoying simple refreshments.

Please find the schedule on HIM's webpages.
