Studies and courses

In the winter term 2021/22 the Mathematics courses are taking place on-site, in hybrid format or online. You can find the information on the lectures, exercise classes and graduate seminars in the electronic course catalogue on BASIS.

  • You may only participate in on-site lectures if you are vaccinated, recovered or tested (3G). You must be able to prove your 3G status at all times. We kindly ask you to come to the lecture hall at least 15 minutes before the start of larger lectures so that the entrance check can be carried out on time. If possible, do not arrive late!

  • If you are moving around the university buildings, masks are mandatory. When all participants are seated in fixed seats, the mask may be removed in the lectures.

  • Citizen testing will no longer be free of charge in the future. But certain persons will still be entitled to a free rapid test. Please inform yourself if you are not vaccinated or recovered.

Especially if you have just started your studies will try to support you as much as possible. Have a look at our offers for study beginners.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!

Office hours of the Bachelor-Master Office

The 'Mathematikzentrum' (MZ) is open again, and you can come to room 0.004.during the office hours of the Bachelor-Master Office. As an alternative, you can come to the window counter outside of 0.004.

If you come inside you must wear a medical mouth-nose-cover. Furthermore, please have your 3G proof ready.

Also outside the office hours, you are welcome to contact us via e-mail or phone.

Submission of the Master's thesis

For the submission of your Master's thesis please observe the current rules:

  • If you started your thesis until 30 September 2021 (corresponding to a submission date in BASIS until 30 September 2022 in the case of a twelve-month working time), then the two-week extension still applies to you, i.e. please add two weeks to the day displayed in BASIS.

  • If you started your thesis as from 1 October 2021 (corresponding to a submission date in BASIS as from 1 October 2022 in the case of a twelve-month working time), then there is no extension. The day displayed in BASIS is the actual submission date.

  • If you should need an extension for individual reasons please send a written request to the Examination Committee via [Email protection active, please enable JavaScript.].

  • Only if you are abroad you may send the thesis as PDF together with the submission form to [Email protection active, please enable JavaScript.]. It is of course mandatory to also submit the printed copies but this can be done later, at most four weeks after the submission date.

  • Please take also note of our general rules for the Master's thesis!
