Sami Douba started at the University of Bonn in September 2025, where he is a postdoctoral researcher (assistant) in the group of Prof. Ursula Hamenstädt. Previously, he was a postdoc in the group of Prof. Fanny Kassel at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (2022-2025), and was also briefly a postdoc within the program "Geometry and Dynamics for Discrete Subgroups of Higher Rank Lie Groups" at SLMath. He obtained his PhD in 2022 from McGill University, where he was supervised by Professors Piotr Przytycki and Dmitry Jakobson.
His interests lie mainly in the geometric, topological, dynamical, and number theoretic features of countably infinite subgroups of Lie groups.
