Seung-Yeon Ryoo joined the Institute for Applied Mathematics at the University of Bonn in September 2026 as a postdoctoral researcher working with Prof. Karl-Theodor Sturm. She received her PhD in Mathematics from Princeton University in 2023 under the supervision of Prof. Assaf Naor and subsequently spent three years as a postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology.
Her research lies in metric geometry, with particular interests in metric embeddings and sub-Riemannian geometry. She also conducts research on mathematical models of synchronization.
