Evaluation criteria for the interim and the final evaluation of a W2 Professorship “Bonn Junior Fellow” with tenure track
I. Criteria for the interim evaluation
- excellent achievements in research that rank among the international top tier, and
- very good achievements in academic teaching that significantly exceed ordinary standards
or
- excellent achievements in academic teaching, and
- very good achievements in research that significantly exceed ordinary standards in an international comparison.
II. Criteria for the final evaluation
- continued excellent achievements in research that rank among the international top tier, and
- continued very good achievements in academic teaching that significantly exceed ordinary standards
or
- continued excellent achievements in academic teaching, and
- continued very good achievements in research that significantly exceed ordinary standards in an international comparison
and
- active participation in committee and commission work within the university and the academic community as a whole.
Specification of the criteria
I. Criteria for the evaluation of research performance
- publications in major international journals,
- invited talks,
- awards,
- international visibility and networking.
II. Criteria for the evaluation of teaching performance
- quality and breadth of teaching, taking into account the type of course (lecture, seminar), levels of instruction (BSc, MSc, PhD), and the use of English / international orientation, courses on current research topics,
- supervision of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses and, where applicable, doctoral dissertations,
- development of teaching materials and authorship of books or lecture notes.
III. Criteria for the evaluation of academic service
- (co-)organization of international conferences,
- participation in academic self-governance,
- participation in internal university committees or governing bodies.
