Grants for Mathematics Students from Ukraine

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Bonn offers 10 grants for Bachelor or Master students of mathematics who had to leave their former university or their country because of the war in Ukraine. They are invited to continue their studies in Bonn and will receive special support.

How to Receive a Grant:

The grants will amount to 900 € per month for two years, with a possible prolongation.

There is no application deadline, you can apply at any time.

Your application should include:

  • your CV,
  • a short description of your current situation, of your status as a refugee, and your motivation to come to Bonn,
  • your transcript of records,
  • a letter of recommendation. 

The admission as a regular Bachelor student requires knowledge of German, as the language of intruction in our Bachelor's courses is German. It may therefore be possible to enroll as a program student first. In this case you can study in our Bachelor's program and at the same time attend German language courses. 

For admission as a Master's student, you need to satisfy the respective admission requirements. Knowledge of German is not required, as the language of instruction in our Master's courses is English.
